DAVIS, Calif. -- Second-year freshman
Bria Shine finished with a team-high 17 points to lead three UC Davis players in double figures, helping lift the host Aggies to a 62-53 exhibition victory over visiting Cal State East Bay on Monday night at the University Credit Union Center on campus.
The match-up was the lone tune-up for the 2021-22 regular season for UC Davis, which tips-off on Tuesday (Nov. 9) at 6 p.m. against the Academy of Art at home.
Shine finished 6-of-7 from the floor in just under 14 minutes, hitting all four shots from the line and grabbing three rebounds. Senior
Sage Stobbart added 14 points and three blocks, while second-year sophomore
Evanne Turner added 12 points on a quartet of three-pointers.
The Pioneers were led by Mina Tameliau, who finished with a game-high 22 points, standing as the lone Cal State East Bay player in double figures.
