Moraga, Calif. - UC Davis opened their fall slate by making the drive to Saint Mary's over the weekend and came away with strong results from both ends of the roster with senior Sara Tsukamoto and sophomore Yana Gurevich meeting in the A Flight Back Draw final.
Tsukamoto defeated Stefanie Frias Da Silva 6-2, 6-4 to advance in the semifinal and Gurevich defeated Fresno State's A.C. Hummel 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) in her semifinal. Tsukamoto went on to take the final 6-3, 6-4 in an all-Aggie affair.
Gurevich later teamed up with freshman Arianna Stavropoulos to win the B Flight Doubles draw 8-3 over Colorado's Ellen Puzak and Betina Tokac 8-3.
Stavropoulos also advanced all the way through the B Flight singles draw before eventually falling in the final to Saint Mary's' Jocelyn Massey 2-6, 7-6, 0-6. Freshman Maddi Page contributed to a string of strong results by Aggie underclassmen advancing to the C Flight singles semifinals before falling there 1-6, 4-6.

The Aggies fall tournament schedule continues at the ITA Northwest Regional hosted at Stanford from Oct. 22-26.
