DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis played in front of their home fans for the first time in over a week on Thursday afternoon but dropped a close Big West Conference result to Long Beach State 1-0.
A header by the Beach's Lena Silano at the 20:34 mark of the first half proved the difference in the game, despite an aggressive push by the Aggies in the second half.
Leslie Fregoso fired six shots, four of those coming the second half. The Aggies finished the afternoon outshooting Long Beach State 12-7, with over half of those coming in the second period, and put two on goal to the Beach's one.
UC Davis continues it's Big West Conference slate on Sunday at UC Irvine on Sunday but will close out the regular season at home against Hawai'i on Oct. 21 and UC San Diego on Oct. 28.
