ANAHEIM, Calif. - Big West Conference officials canceled this year's Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament, effective immediately, as announced at 9:50 a.m. Thursday morning.
The decision was made to protect the health, safety and wellness of student-athletes, coaches and administrators from participating teams.
The Big West is one of numerous conferences that proactively canceled their respective postseason tournament Thursday morning in response to this rapidly evolving, and fluid situation.Â
Community members are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines for good hygiene and incorporate the following steps to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 and other germs:
- Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow.
- Stay home if you are sick or have chronic breathing problems (including asthma, COPD, or emphysema).
