UC Davis returns to action at Big West Challenge (Mar. 29-31)

BERKELEY, Calif. -- UC Davis lost all five of its matches to No. 12 California in its return to action during non-conference collegiate beach volleyball action at the Clark Kerr Courts Saturday afternoon.

The Aggies, facing their third consecutive team ranked in the AVCA Top 20, fall to 2-3 for the year. The Golden Bears improve to 12-3 overall.

All five UC Davis pairings lost in straight sets. The No. 1 pairing of junior Lauren Matias and freshman Jane Seslar offered the closest challenge, battling Jordan Polo and Mima Mirkovic to a 21-18 battle in the opener before falling by a 21-11 final in the second.

The Aggies return to action at the Big West Challenge, hosted by Cal Poly next Friday through Sunday. They will open the conference round-robin event with duals against Sacramento State and CSU Bakersfield on that Friday.
