Game Notes: UC Davis  |  San Francisco  |  Big West

DAVIS, Calif. —  Following Monday's home thriller against Loyola Marymount, which saw senior guard Joe Mooney hit a three at the buzzer from midcourt, UC Davis will end its West Coast Conference week with a 2 p.m. matchup on Saturday at San Francisco.

Prior to hosting the Lions, the Aggies visited San Diego and faced the Toreros.

In addition to a video stream on TheW.TV, Scott Marsh will call the action courtside from War Memorial at the Sobrato Center for Sports 1140 KHTK. An internet audio broadcast is available on TuneIn Radio by searching Sports 1140.

Aggie basketball fans who are interested in attending this game should plan on arriving early since construction is taking place inside and around the arena. This situation turned nearby parking structures into temporary construction storage facilities.

In addition to ample street parking that is free, starting two hours prior to Saturday's game, the Hayes Healy parking garage is located near to War Memorial Gym on Golden Gate Ave.

With three wins in its last four games, a young UC Davis squad is starting to show its potential as the  team's non-conference schedule progresses. This year's matchup against the Dons, the Aggies' final game before their holiday break, and a Dec. 29 matchup at New Mexico, the team's last road game before Big West play begins on Jan. 9, will provide two tough tests for a UC Davis roster that features 10 combined freshmen and sophomores.

This year's head-to-head matchup is the third in as many years; before these teams began playing one another on a regular basis, 41 years passed between games.

UC Davis' last win against San Francisco took place during the 1939-40 season, with San Francisco taking the following seven played. Even though only 74 miles separate each team's respective home arena, only nine games between the Aggies and Dons took place since their inaugural matchup during the 1934-35 season.

Series Record: UC Davis trails 8-1
Last San Francisco Win: 11/16/18 — H, 76-42
Last UC Davis Win: 1939-40 Season — 45-30
Series Streak: San Francisco +7
