IN THE POLLS: Neither UC Davis, nor Sacramento State, are ranked nationally entering Tuesday's game… Following three straight weeks in the College Insider Mid-Major poll, the Aggies have fallen out of the rankings, but have faced three teams that are among those receiving votes on Nov. 20: Santa Clara (18), Saint Mary's (2), and Montana State (1).
ABOUT THE HORNETS: Sacramento State enters the week with a 1-3 overall record, but hasn't played since dropping a 62-43 decision at Cal Poly on Nov. 20... Like the Aggies, the Hornets have played the majority of their contests on the road as Tuesday marks their fourth road game in five overall to start the year... Sacramento State's only win came in an 86-55 decision over Cal Maritime on Nov. 13... The Hornets are averaging 67.0 ppg and shooting .320 from the floor, compared to 68.3 and a .399 field goal percentage by their opponents... Senior guard Gabi Bade leads a trio of players averaging double figures at 16.0 ppg, while senior forward Kennedy Nicholas (12.5) and sophomore guard Summer Menke (12.3 ppg) join her.
SERIES NOTES: Winners of the last three straight meetings, UC Davis holds a narrow, 30-29, advantage in the series with Sacramento State according to records that date back to the 1971-72 season... The Aggies have hit the century mark in two of the last three meetings, finishing with 110 points in 2016 and 109 last season -- both played at The Nest in Sacramento... UC Davis is 15-12 at The Pavilion in the series (with the location of seven games unknown), last posting a 79-72 win over Sacramento State in 2017... The Aggies are 8-4 against the Hornets since their Division I debut season in 2007-08... Sacramento State last posted a win in the series with a 92-77 decision at The Pavilion in 2015.
CONFERENCE CALL: Tuesday's contest will be the second against a Big Sky Conference school this year after the Aggies opened the year against Montana State in Bozeman... UC Davis is a combined 43-41 against the current Big Sky alignment, including a 22-14 mark at The Pavilion.
LAST TIME OUT: Senior
Katie Toole shared game-high honors with 25 points, while senior
Nina Bessolo added 15 more off the bench, as a 10-0 second-quarter run gave the Aggies the lead for good in a 79-67 win over San Francisco last Friday. The Aggies shot 52 percent overall from the floor and hit 46 percent from beyond the arc en route to the win, shooting better than 50 percent in three of the four quarters on the night and trailed for a total of 10 seconds.
