SAN FRANCISCO - Sophomore managerial economics major Christine Danielsson climbed her way up the San Francisco Regional's leaderboard, as did junior sociology major Samantha Hutchison on Tuesday, as they moved eight and two spots respectively after completing the second of three 18-hole rounds taking place at TPC Harding Park, a par 72 6,369-yard course.

By shooting a 2-over 74 on Tuesday, Hutchison will enter Wednesday's final round at 6-over (150) through 36 holes, which ties her for 59th with three other competitors. Danielsson's 4-over 76 is a seven-shot improvement from her opening round result, which ties her for 87th overall (also with three other golfers) at 15-over (159).

Danielsson and Hutchison will compete in the same group on Wednesday -- New Mexico's Darian Zachek is the final member -- and resume tournament play at 8:55 a.m. on hole 10.

Hutchison, the Big West Conference Player of the Year, enjoyed a consistent round of golf throughout a day highlighted by pars on each of her final 12 holes, and 16 of 18 overall.

Danielsson enjoyed a solid performance of her own; after shooting par on six of her opening nine holes, she recorded another seven pars, in addition to a birdie on hole 4 (a 505-yard par 5) to enjoy one of the biggest jumps of any individual in the field.

Six teams, and the low three individuals not on those teams, will advance to the 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship, taking place later this month in Stillwater, Okla. Stanford and Kent State lead all squads at 2-under with UCLA, the national No. 1 seed, trailing that pair by one stroke. Pepperdine's Hira Naveed leads all individuals at 5-under.
