DAVIS, Calif. -- Two prospective student-athletes inked National Letters of Intent to compete for UC Davis women's gymnastics during the November signing period, head coach John Lavallee announced. The two PSAs are Logan Clagg of Visalia, California; and Addison Donis of Quartz Hill, California. Both are seniors at their respective high schools, and will enroll at the university in the fall of 2019.
Clagg, who also lettered in golf for four years at Central Valley Christian, has competed at Level 10 for Central California Gymnastics Institute since 2013. She advanced to the Junior Olympics Nationals in each of 2017 and 2018, with four Region 1 appearances along the way. Clagg also captured the regional floor championship in 2017 thanks to a career-best 9.650. On the links, Clagg helped her team win a pair of Central Sequoia League titles.
Donis, who attends Quartz Hill High School, has been a part of Wallers' GymJam Academy since 2012 and a Level 10 competitor for the past two years. She qualified for the Region 1 championships in both 2017 and 2018, with a third-place showing on vault in that first year. Donis made the jump to Level 10 after capturing vault, bars and all-around titles at the Level 9 regionals plus the vault-beam-all-around triple at Level 9 Westerns in 2016.
UC Davis finished with a 195.145 regional-qualifying score and sent three individual qualifiers – Kelley Hebert, Gabby Landess and Alexis Brown – to the NCAA Salt Lake Regional in 2018. The upcoming season will be the 13th under Lavallee, who owns six Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Coach of the Year awards.
