HONOLULU -- A Jordan LaFave sacrifice fly pushed across the go-ahead as part of a two-run fourth inning, and Neil Uskali scattered five hits over 8.1 innings on Sunday afternoon, as host Hawai'i salvaged the finale of a three-game Big West Conference series with a 3-1 win over UC Davis at Les Murakami Stadium in Honolulu.

The Aggies, who won the series with a doubleheader sweep on Saturday night, fell to 12-20 overall and 5-7 in league play, while the Rainbow Warriors improved to 22-14 overall and 4-5 in conference with the victory.

Uskali (6-2) out dueled three Aggie pitchers in the win, allowing just one run on a balk in the fourth while striking out six, retiring 11 consecutive hitters at one point. After a pair of one-out singles in the ninth, Dylan Thomas came on to get the final two outs on a 6-3 double play to nail down his fifth save of the year.

Sophomore left-hander Robert Garcia (1-4) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out five over five innings of work. sophomore Chris Brown and junior Zach Stone combined to hold Hawai'i to just one hit and strike out three over the final three innings to keep their side in the contest.

Ryan Hooper and Alex Aguiar each had two hits to lead the Aggies, who stranded six on base for the game -- five of those in scoring position.

The Rainbow Warriors were the first on the board courtesy a Kekai Rios sacrifice fly in the third, scoring teammate Dylan Vchulek, who reached on an error with one out earlier in the inning. The Aggies put together a rally to plate the tying run the very next inning as Cameron Olson singled to lead-off the frame and went to third on a wild pitch and Hooper's single through the left side.

With Aguiar at the plate and no outs, a balk charged to Uskali plated Olson and moved Hooper up 90 feet, but the Hawai'i right-hander worked out of the jam, getting a pair of fly balls and a strikeout to strand Hooper at third after he stole the base with Brad Pluschkell at the plate.

Alex Fitchett singled to center to lead off the home half of the fourth and was sacrificed to second. A fielder's choice and a walk loaded the bases for LaFave, who skied a ball deep enough to right to plate Fitchett with the go-ahead run, and an infield single by Vchulek added an insurance score for a 3-1 advantage.

UC Davis was held without a hit over the next four innings before trying to put together a rally in the ninth as Hooper singled with one out to knock Uskali from the game, and Aguiar greeted Thomas with an infield single to put two on base. Ignacio Diaz then came up as a pinch hitter, but Thomas was able to induce a ground ball to the left side and the defense turned two to end the game.

The Aggies are scheduled to return to the diamond this weekend to open a run of four straight games at Phil Swimley Field at Dobbins Stadium, welcoming Long Beach State to Northern California for a three-game series beginning on Friday (April 28) at 2:30 p.m.
