April 11, 2017 SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Golden 1 Center will provide the setting for UC Davis basketball's latest community service event when the program partners with the Sacramento Kings Tuesday night during their final home game of the 2016-17 NBA season.
During the third timeout of the second quarter, Brynton Lemar, a former UC Davis student-athlete who exhausted his eligibility, will participate in the Kings' Charity Shoot-Out, benefitting Junior Achievement - a non-profit youth organization that develops entrepreneurship, financial literacy skills and teaches students in grades kindergarten-12th grade the principles of free enterprise, business and economics.
As part of this Shoot-Out, Lemar will have 45 seconds to attempt a layup, free throw, three-pointer and half-court shot. With every made basket, Golden 1 Credit Union will increase its donation to Junior Achievement since each location has a dollar value attached to it.
Golden 1 Credit Union members voted for Junior Achievement to participate as this year's Charity Shoot-Out recipient from a list of local non-profit organizations.
