IRVINE, Calif. - Siler Schneider scored 10 of his team-high 16 points after halftime, Lawrence White and Brynton Lemar each scored 10 points in Saturday's Big West regular season finale at the Bren Events Center to complete the team's list of double-figure scorers, but a hot start by the host Anteaters helped them record a 79-49 win over the Aggies.
UC Davis will enter next Thursday's quarterfinal at the Big West Tournament as the event's No. 2 seed with a 19-12 overall and 11-5 league record. UC Irvine end its season with records of 19-13 and 12-4.

"We did not play well because they were the more aggressive team all game," said UC Davis head coach Jim Les. "They came out in 'attack mode,' we just did not respond to that as well as I would like.
"Hopefully this is a lesson learned," Les added.
UC Irvine opened the game by scoring 24 of the first 31 points, a start that included a few threes from more than 30 feet away that beat the shot clock. One of those attempts from three deflected off the glass, an example of way Saturday's game played out for both teams.
"We know one thing for sure: we have another game on Thursday, and we are going to regroup and start preparing for that game on Monday," Les said.
"Hats off to Irvine, they were the better team tonight."
Even though UC Davis enters the chase for the league's automatic bid at this year's NCAA Tournament as the Big West's second seed, the Aggies know that every team will arrive to Anaheim with postseason aspirations.
"We cannot rest on our laurels," said Les, "we need to come (to our next game) with a chip on our shoulder and ready to play. This team understands that winning three games, in three days, is awfully hard, and it all starts on Thursday."
