DAVIS, Calif. - Coming off another thrilling come-from behind victory, UC Davis will end its current five-match homestand this weekend with three duals in as many days. Visiting the Marya Welch Tennis Center are two Big Sky Conference schools - Montana and Montana State - with another home Big West match vs. Cal Poly taking place in between.
UC Davis, winners in their last three matches and eight of its last 10, will have an opportunity to string together the second five-match win streak of the season, if victorious against the Grizzlies and Mustangs. If the Aggies are able to sweep all of this week's matches, the team will hold its longest streak since 2011 when that roster won 10 straight.
During the 2011 dual season, the Aggies won 11 of 13 at one point of the season, the most successful block of action in the program's Division I era. By protecting its home courts in all three matchups, UC Davis the 2017 team will match the 2011 squad's results, with a chance to create a new program-best block of results when it heads to Nevada on March 10 - the first road dual since returning from Santa Clara on Feb. 19.
With 12 duals remaining until they head to the desert for this year's Big West Conference Women's Tennis tournament, the Aggies have ample opportunities to collect their 10th win of the season, which will equal last year's total.
The Division I-era record for the most wins in a dual season is 17, held by that same 2011 team.
