DAVIS, Calif. -
UC Davis and Pacific will face one another for the first time since the Tigers left the Big West Conference, and joined the West Coast Conference, when the Aggies continue their season-opening five-game road swing Wednesday evening in Stockton.

Since this is the second-half of Pacific's home basketball doubleheader, tipoff will take place at 7:30 p.m. or 35 minutes following the end of the preceding game, whichever is later.

Even though the two campuses are separated by only 59 miles, the Aggies have not faced the Tigers since they switched conferences before the start of the 2014-15 season. Nearly four years have passed between matchups; only a few weeks will separate the next one since Pacific will visit the Pavilion on Dec. 6, completing a home-and-home series in the process.

Wednesday's road game will serve as a homecoming for UC Davis assistant coach Jonathan Metzger-Jones, a Pacific alum (Class of '02) who spent two seasons as a member of the men's basketball program.

This non-conference game will also feature Jim Les and Damon Stoudamire, two former NBA professionals now guiding the Aggies and Tigers, respectively.

Wednesday's game is the second of the year for each squad; Pacific dropped its season opener to Stanford, 89-80, while the Aggies enjoyed a 15-point victory thanks to a near-flawless second-half effort Monday night at Northern Colorado.

Basketball fans can listen to Wednesday's matchup on KSAC 105.5 FM, on TuneIn radio or through TuneIn's app by searching the phrase "UC Davis Sports Network."
