DAVIS, Calif. - Even though Thursday's game at UC Riverside pits teams on opposite ends of the Big West Conference standings - UC Davis will enter this ESPN3 matchup in first place thanks to a four-game win streak and victories in five of its last six played - expect a highly competitive game inside the SRC Arena since the last three head-to-head matchups were decided by three points or less.

Fortunately for Aggie fans, their team emerged victorious on all three of those occasions. By sweeping the series in each of the last two seasons, UC Davis will look to collect its season-high fifth overall, and head-to-head win.

This is the first of two Aggie road games that will air on an ESPN network this week. Two days after Scott Marsh (PBP) and Richie Schueler (analyst) call on ESPN3, UC Davis' Saturday night game at CSUN will air on ESPNU. As is the case with Thursday's game in Riverside, Schueler will serve as the analyst for this weekend's Aggies-Matadors matchup.

Before that game takes place, UC Davis' full attention is aimed at its first league road game of the season. Even though UCR dropped both BWC games played last week by six points, those results took place against Long Beach State and CSUN - teams that were predicted to finish first and third respectively in this year's conference preseason poll.

With a win, UC Davis will hold a five-game win streak for the first time since the 2014-15 season. That year, the Aggies won their final non-conference game and first four Big West games, then won another seven straight midway through its league slate before winning a Big West championship.
