NAPA, Calif.
- The UC Davis women's golf team posted its best finish of the spring with its ninth-place showing at the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday while senior Andrea Wong parlayed her second straight round of par-72 into a tie for seventh at Silverado Resort and Spa's North Course.

Wong had her first top-10 finish of the season while her 2-over total was her best score of the year as well. Freshman Daniela Anastasia shot 75 on Tuesday to card a 9-over 225 total and tie for 37th place, Betty Chen tied for 45th at 11 over after carding a 78, and Paige Lee ended with a 75, tying for 47th at 12 over. Alexandra Zen shot 81 for a 32-over total that placed her 89th.

UC Davis shot a 12-over 300 team score on Tuesday, finishing 34 over overall. The Aggies had their third top-10 showing of the year and their first of the spring portion of the season. Defending national champion Stanford, ranked 11th, won the tournament title at 1 over. Oregon, ranked 23rd, was second at 14 over, Pepperdine took third at 16 over and No. 40 Colorado finished fourth at 19 over.

Wong put together another solid round, picking up birdies on the par-4 14th and par-4 17th to help her counter an early bogey and get to 1 under midway through her day. She had eight pars and just one bogey down the stretch to lead the Aggies in the final round. Anastasia was 3 over at her turn but had pars on the par-4 first and fourth holes to help her cover her final nine holes at par.

Lee was just 1 over on her back nine, carding a pair of birdies on the par-5 fifth and ninth holes. Chen posted an early birdie and was 2 over on her front nine while Zeng was only 3 over her final nine holes.

Oregon's Cathleen Santoso shot a 71 in the final round and was 5 under for the tournament, earning medalist honors by a shot of Lauren Kim of Stanford.

UC Davis will now turn its attention to the Big West Championship at the University of Hawai'i on April 17-19. The Aggies will enter the tournament as six-time defending champions.
