Final results

FAIRFAX, Calif. - Sam Hutchison shot a 4-over 76 while senior Andrea Wong had a 77 on Tuesday as the UC Davis women's golf team finished 13th at the rain-shortened Bay Area Intercollegiate at Meadow Club.

The Aggies shot a final-round 24-over 312 and were 47-over 623 for the tournament. Hutchison's round put her at 13 over for the 36-hole event and tied her for 57th with redshirt freshman Alexandra Zeng, who had a 79. Senior Betty Chen tied for 32nd at 8 over after shooting 81, Wong tied for 62nd at 14 over, and freshman Daniela Anastasi carded an 80 to place 65th at 18 over.

Fourteenth-ranked Cal posted a 7-over 583 total to capture the tournament it co-hosted with San Jose State, by three shots. Colorado, ranked 33rd, came in second at 10 over while Oregon State was 15 over and finished third.

Teams battled tough weather conditions on Monday and were only able to finish 18 of the 36 holes scheduled for that day. That forced officials to shorten the event to 36 holes.

Hutchison had the Aggies' best round on Tuesday, playing each side of the Meadow Club golf course at two shots over par. She opened with a bogey but then had seven straight pars before adding a string of five more in a row later. Wong was just 1 over on the front nine, capitalizing on a birdie on the par-3 eighth hole.

Zeng had three birdies and was just 2 over on the back, Anastasi posted two birdies over a three-hole span midway through her round, and Chen had a birdie on the par-3 11th during a portion of her day where she played a six-hole stretch at 1 under.

Cal's Hannah Suh won the event at 4 under after shooting a 69 in Tuesday's round.

UC Davis will return to action on March 21-23 at the San Diego State March Mayhem in Rancho Santa Fe.
