Of his 22 Division I offers, Strom selects UC Davis

Nov. 9, 2016

DAVIS, Calif. - During his recruitment, Logan Strom received 22 Division I football and basketball offers combined, and became the most sought after high school student-athlete in Nebraska. By signing a National Letter of Intent with UC Davis, the 6-foot-8 forward will join the team when it reports for preseason workouts next summer, as announced by head coach Jim Les on Wednesday.

The Norfolk native earned additional basketball offers from Southern Illinois, Indiana State, Lehigh, Vermont, Denver, IUPUI, Boston U, South Dakota, UMKC, Kent State, Miami (OH), Wright State, San Diego, North Dakota and South Dakota State.

Buffalo, Cincinnati, Illinois State, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Wyoming presented football scholarships.

"I knew UC Davis was the school for me once I stepped off campus after my official visit. I fell in love with the school, the players, the coaches, and Davis as a whole. The basketball side of UC Davis is extremely exciting, the Big West is a great conference and I can tell the guys are young and hungry to get to the NCAA Tournament," said Strom.

"Logan is a skilled big man who is an ideal fit for our system. He can score inside as well as on the perimeter, and is an excellent passer. We expect him to impact our program immediately," Les said.

As a freshman, Strom made a quick and consistent impact for Norfolk High School by posting 13.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. After averaging 11.8 and 7.2 respectively during his sophomore season, the three-time All-Heartland Athletic Conference selection recorded a career-high 17.2 ppg and 8.1 rpg during his junior year - figures that helped the Panthers win their third straight league title and advance to the NSAA State Championships.

Once the 2016 playoffs concluded, Strom earned his third All-State honor and first All-District award of his career when he was announced as a member of the second and first teams.

Entering his final season at NHS, Strom holds the school's career rebound record, and is on the cusp of setting another two all-time marks in points and three-point percentage.

Off the court, he is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Junior Statesmen of America.

Said Strom regarding his recruitment from other Division I programs before to signing his NLI, "I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else!"
