Breisacher and von Ebbe win second straight doubles crown

Oct. 9, 2016

Complete Results

MORAGA, Calif. - For the second straight weekend, UC Davis women's tennis collected championship hardware after Kristina Breisacher and Isabella von Ebbe won the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational Flight B doubles title.

The Aggie duo topped Santa Clara's Zeina El Tawil and Caitlyn Frankel, 8-6, to cap a successful weekend in Moraga.

Breisacher's and von Ebbe's Saint Mary's Fall Invitational result is the latest of a string of championship appearances, and titles won by UC Davis players this fall. The two collected their second doubles championship in as many weeks after winning the Cal Nike Fall Invitational's White Flight crown last weekend.

At that same tournament, Breisacher defeated No. 1-seeded Vanessa Nommenson (Saint Mary's) in come-from-behind fashion to win her first singles title as an Aggie.

In the first fall tournament featuring UC Davis players, it was von Ebbe who ended her time at the Battle in the Bay Classic as its singles consolation runner-up.

Women's tennis will not return to action until Oct. 21 when action at the ITA Northwest Regional Championship starts at Stanford.
