DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis has enjoyed strong starts to its fall schedule after advancing to the final day of action at the Battle in the Bay Classic and the Cal Nike Fall Invitational. After collecting three titles last weekend in Berkeley, women's tennis will try to add to its fall award haul this weekend at the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational.

Draws were not available at the time of release.

In addition to the Aggies and tournament host Saint Mary's, Cal, Cal Poly, Pacific, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, San José State and Stanford will head to Moraga and begin play on Friday.

The Saint Mary's Fall Invitational will feature three singles and doubles brackets, each containing a main and consolation draw.

At last year's event, Isabella von Ebbe ended her weekend with a singles championship in the Flight C Main Draw after defeating Sacramento State's Emily McColl 6-3, 6-3. Von Ebbe was one of three Aggies to advance to the tournament's final day; joining her were Alex Huie and Kristy Jorgensen.

By defeating Cal's Audrey Mayer in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) in the B Flight's consolation semifinal, Huie provided a stiff challenge to Stanford's Naomie Rosenberg in their bracket's final consolation singles match of the weekend.

In a three-set Flight A semi, Jorgensen battled back to win the second set, 6-4, after dropping the first one by a 6-3 margin. In the decisive tiebreaker, Portland's Maja Mladenovic pulled away, advanced to the flight's final and captured a championship.
