DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis basketball will begin Big West play at the Pavilion, starting with its home opener on Jan. 4 vs. UC Santa Barbara and the first of four Saturday basketball doubleheaders when Cal Poly visits three days later, as announced by head coach Jim Les on Monday.

Other home basketball doubleheaders are scheduled for Jan. 28, when the men host UC Irvine, Feb. 11 against UC Riverside and Feb. 25 vs. Long Beach State. Tip times for all four doubleheaders have yet to be determined. Once set by league officials, information pertaining to all four doubleheaders will be available at UCDavisAggies.com.

After the Aggies open their season against the Gauchos and Mustangs, the team will embark on its longest road trip during conference competition with stops at UC Riverside (Jan. 12), CSUN (Jan. 14) and Hawai'i (Jan. 21).

The team's road game against the Highlanders is one of two matchups on ESPN3's national broadcast schedule, the other will take place the following month at Long Beach State (Feb. 16).

Once UC Davis returns from the islands, it will host UCI before returning to the road.

The Aggies will open the month of February with their Central California road trip at Cal Poly (Feb. 2) and UCSB (Feb. 4), followed by home games against Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 8) and UCR. That Thursday night tilt vs. the Titans is the first of two head-to-head meetings taking place within a 10-day timespan since UC Davis will end its final Southern California road trip at Titan Gym (Feb. 18), two days after facing the 49ers.

The second of a season-long three-game homestand will start when CSUN (Feb. 23) visits Hamilton Court, continue two days later against Long Beach State before ending the following week vs. Hawai'i (March 2).

A brief trip to UC Irvine (March 4) is how the Aggies will end the regular season; that game is the final event before the start of postseason action at the Honda Center, site of this season's Big West Men's Basketball Tournament (March 9-11).
