Sept. 24, 2015 IRVINE, Calif. - ESPN3 will air as many as four UC Davis road games this season when conference officials released its schedule for the 2015-16 season. The network will feature the defending Big West Conference champions on Feb. 4, at Cal State Fullerton, and picked another three league matchups as potential "Wild Card" games: at Long Beach State on Jan. 9, at UC Riverside on Feb. 6 and at CSUN on March 5.
ESPN3 will announce its official selection for those three dates approximately 3-4 weeks in advance,
Wednesday's announcement follows FOX's decision to air UC Davis' Jan. 7 Big West opener, at UC Irvine, on two of its networks: Prime Ticket and College Sports Pacific.
Earlier this month, the conference also released its ESPNU and ESPN2 selections; utilizing a similar "Wild Card" format, these networks may air as many as five league games involving the NCAA's reigning three-point champions (and only team in the nation that also posted a top-five field goal percentage last year).
ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The network is currently available to more than 99 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.
The Big West Conference successfully rolled out its mobile production facility two years ago, utilizing full ESPN production standards, including graphics, replay and on-air crew. It was the first fully operational mobile production unit of its kind that expanded upon what ESPN Emerging Technology has already done at the institutional level.
