By winning its first league title this past season, UC Davis advanced to postseason play for the first time as a Division I program and made its inaugural appearance at the National Invitation Tournament.
In addition to capturing a national three-point title by finishing with the highest percentage among all 345 D-I teams (.447), the Aggies also ended the season with the fourth-highest field goal percentage (.490).
UC Davis is the only team in the nation to hold top-five shooting percentages in both categories.
Besides posting new school records for the most overall (25), Big West (14), home (14), road (10) and non-conference (10) victories in a single season, this year's team recorded the first undefeated home record in the program's Div. I era.
No team experienced a bigger improvement last season than UC Davis; its +16 win differential is No. 1 in country and the largest in Big West history. The Aggies are also the third conference team ever to jump from last place, to first place, in a span of two seasons, and the first to do so outright in a single division setup
The 2014-15 season also marked the first occasion in school history that the Aggies received Big West Coach of the Year (Jim Les), Player of the Year (Corey Hawkins) and Sixth Man of the Year (Josh Fox) honors. Including First Team (Hawkins), Second Team (Josh Ritchart) and Honorable Mention accolades (Fox), no team collected more all-conference and specialty awards this past season than UC Davis.
On Nov. 24, men's basketball made its inaugural appearance on CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Top-25 poll when the Aggies received votes. Just a few weeks later, the team earned its first-ever Div. I national ranking, and climbed as high as No. 8 on the outlet's weekly listing before ending the season as the nation's No. 9 team.
