UC Davis was well-represented throughout this year's Final Four weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana, when Kelsey Harris and Corey Hawkins competed in the College 3-Point Championship.
This year's championship, which took place inside Hinkle Fieldhouse, located on the campus of Butler University, marked the second time in the nearly three-decade long history of the event that one school fielded a competitor in both the men's and women's long-range showcase.
Harris, ranked among the top five nationally in three-point percentage since the start of Big West play, led the country from behind the arc for three consecutive weeks in January, and ended her season ranked No. 3 in the nation.
In her three-point event, she advanced to the semifinal round and competed against Portland's Cassandra Brown - the eventual winner of the women's contest and Fitbit Battle of the Champions after she squared off against Gonzaga's Kevin Pangos, the winner of the men's event.
Hawkins, men's basketball's first-ever national three-point champion, finished his final season at UC Davis with a .488 percentage from long range. Due to his shooting prowess from behind the arc, the Big West Player of the Year also posted the seventh-highest scoring average in the country (20.9 ppg) and collected his second Big West scoring title in the last three years.
After competing in the quarterfinal round during his three-point event, Hawkins returned to action the following day inside Lucas Oil Stadium, led the West All-Stars to a wire-to-wire victory in the Reese's College All-Star Game and took home MVP accolades.
