INDIANAPOLIS - UC Davis guard Corey Hawkins dazzled the crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium throughout the Reese's College All-Star Game by scoring a game-high 20 points, on 7 of 9 shooting, to help the West All-Stars enjoy a 109-87 victory over the East All-Stars on Friday in front of 26,743 college basketball fans.

CBS will air this year's showcase, featuring some of the top Division I players in the country, on a tape delay Saturday morning at 10 a.m. (PT).

With his performance, Hawkins, who wore No. 5 in this year's event, received MVP accolades as one of two recipients of the Reese's Perfect Players award. His teammate Le'Bryan Nash (Oklahoma), the other player selected, ended with 17 points and a team-tying eight rebounds.

Taking the court just over 24 hours after competing in the men's three-point championship, Hawkins, the All-American from Goodyear, Ariz., drained 4 of 5 shots from three, collected four rebounds and finished with two assists.

Named a starter by West head coach Jim Crews (Saint Louis University), Hawkins shot a perfect 3-for-3 overall, and 2-for-2 from three in the first half, to help his team enter the break with a nine-point advantage.

The Big West Player of the Year scored 12 of his points after halftime to help his team pull away and record a blowout victory.

Throughout his eight minutes played in the second half, Hawkins shot 4 of 6 overall and was 2 of 3 from both behind the arc, and at the free throw line.

The West All-Stars made nine of its first 10 field goals while going 7-for-7 from three-point range to take a 27-14 lead with 13:50 left in the first half. The East cut the lead to one on two occasions, the latest being 38-37 with 4:30 remaining, but they never took the lead. The West used an 8-0 run late in the first half to take a 53-44 lead into the locker room at halftime.

When action resumed, the West used a 12-2 run to take a 74-54 lead with13:54 left. The West led by as many as 24 in the second half and the East would only get as close as 14 the rest of the way.

Both all-star teams were comprised of seniors and were selected by NABC member coaches.

Hawkins, a two-time Big West Conference scoring champion, is the second Aggie to participate in the Reese's College All-Star Game. In 2010, Dominic Caligari was one of 22 student-athletes who competed.

Coincidentally, Calegari's all-star appearance also took place inside Lucas Oil Stadium.
