March 16, 2015 IRVINE, Calif. - UC Davis senior guard Corey Hawkins was one of six players recognized by the league when the All-Big West Conference Tournament Team was revealed.
In addition to the two-time Big West scoring champion, Will Davis II and Luke Nelson from UC Irvine, Roderick Bobbitt and Aaron Valdes from Hawai'i and Alan Williams from UC Santa Barbara also received recognition from the league for their play during last weekend's postseason event.
In UC Davis' March 12 quarterfinal vs. CSUN, the Goodyear, Ariz., native finished with 15 points three assists and a game-high three steals - exactly half of the entire total recorded by the Matadors that afternoon.
The following night vs. Hawai'i, Hawkins led all players with 22 points on eight field goals and three baskets from long range - both game highs. The Big West Player of the Year also led all Aggies with three assists and two steals.
Hawkins, and his teammates, will compete in UC Davis' first-ever Division I postseason game when the Aggies visit Maples Pavilion Tuesday night to face the Stanford Cardinal in a first round, National Invitation Tournament matchup.
