Aggies climb another spot in top 25 poll

Feb. 9, 2015

DAVIS, Calif. - Double-digit road victories earned at UC Irvine and CSUN last week helped UC Davis climb another spot in CollegeInsider.com’s latest Mid-Major Poll. When released on Monday, the Aggies ascended to No. 13 in the outlet’s latest national list.

The Aggies, winners in nine of their last 10 games, will look to extend a four-game win streak when Cal State Fullerton visits the Pavilion this week.

UC Davis, the No. 1 team in the country from three with its .462 percentage, is also tied for third with Ohio State and its .503 field goal percentage. With those statistics, the Aggies can proudly brag about something none of the other 344 Division I teams can: top three overall and three-point field goal percentages.

By virtue of defeating UC Irvine, combined with Long Beach State’s loss last Sunday, the Aggies are in sole possession of first place heading into this week’s game against the Titans.

UC Davis is also the only Big West team to hold an undefeated record at home (10-0) and a winning road record (8-4).

Thursday’s Cal State Fullerton at UC Davis conference contest - the only one on this week’s schedule for the Aggies - will tip at 7 p.m.
