DAVIS, Calif. - By defeating Long Beach State on its own court, and Hawai'i at home last week, UC Davis jumped three spots to No. 8 in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.

The ranking is a new all-time high for a squad that continues to set a new program record each time the media outlet releases its weekly list of the top mid-major teams in the nation.

Including last week's results, the Aggies have won 12 of their last 13 games and seven in a row.

An early 21-5 scoring run, and a 26-point performance from Corey Hawkins, helped UC Davis record its first 20-win season as a Division I program when the Aggies defeated Long Beach State last Thursday inside the Walter Pyramid.

Two days later, Tyler Les drained a career-high nine three-pointers to finish with 28 points - also a career high - to help UC Davis down the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors in front of a standing-room only crowd inside the Pavilion.

That victory pushed the Aggies' home record to 12-0.

UC Davis, the only conference team to sport an undefeated home mark, is also the only Big West team with a winning road record (9-4)

Now in its 16th year, the Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast and Western Athletic.

Men's basketball will embark on its final road trip of the regular season this week - one that includes stops at UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, and Cal Poly on Saturday. Both games will tip at 7 p.m.
