Click here to view this week's Men's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll DAVIS, Calif. - By collecting another two wins in convincing fashion last week and preserving its spot atop the Big West standings as the only team with an undefeated league record, UC Davis jumped eight spots in CollegeInsider's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll to the No. 17 position.
As has been the case in past weeks, the Aggies are the only team to represent the conference in any of the top 25 spots.
By defeating UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton last week on their respective floors, UC Davis is also the only Big West squad to hold a winning road record. Entering Thursday's game at Hawai'i, the last of a three-game trip, the Aggies are 6-3 away from the Pavilion. Even though Cal Poly, men's basketball's upcoming opponent for its Jan. 30 ESPNU home game, holds the second-best road record, the Mustangs are 4-6 outside San Luis Obispo.
Men's hoops will also travel to Hawai'i possessing the nation's No. 1 three-point (.441) and No. 5 field-goal (.501) percentages.
Last week's wins also place the Aggies just one victory away from setting two new Division I school records, and one step closer towards tying another. With 14 overall and six road victories, this year's @UCDavisMBB squad tied two records originally set by head coach Jim Les' 2012-13 team. Currently 4-0 against league teams, UC Davis needs five more league wins to match another school record that was created two seasons ago.
After UC Davis faces the Rainbow Warriors this Thursday evening (9 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. HT), the Aggies will return home for the first time since its thrilling come-from-behind victory against Long Beach State - a game that was televised across the country on ESPNU. Visiting Davis next week are UC Santa Barbara, on Jan. 29, and Cal Poly on Jan. 31 in another ESPNU nationally televised game.
