Jan. 12, 2015 DAVIS, Calif. - Mere hours after learning that ESPNU will return to the Pavilion to air UC Davis' home game on Jan. 31, against Cal Poly, men's basketball was informed that FOX Prime Ticket selected the Aggies' Feb. 7 league matchup, at CSUN, as its game of the week.
To accommodate FOX's broadcasting needs, the start time for that night's game against the Matadors has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m.
Prime Ticket's selection caps an eight-day timespan that includes nationwide airings of three UC Davis men's basketball games. Beginning with ESPNU's broadcast from Davis on Jan. 31, men's hoops will appear on ESPN3 when the Aggies face UC Irvine at the Bren Events Center on Feb. 5, before making its first appearance of the season on FOX two days later in Northridge.
UC Davis opened league play on Jan. 7 against CSUN - a game that saw the Aggies drain a dozen shots from three en route to a 10-point victory over the Matadors. That victory marked the third time in as many occasions that UC Davis won its Big West home opener and the fifth head-to-head win against CSUN in the last six meetings.
The Aggies will open a season-long three-game league road swing beginning with Thursday night's 7 p.m. game at UC Riverside. Men's basketball will also visit Cal State Fullerton on Saturday (6 p.m. start) and Hawai'i on Jan. 22 before returning to the Pavilion for its next set of home games against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly the following week.
