SPOKANE, Wash. -- Junior outfielder Austin March finished 3-for-4 with three RBI while senior right-hander Harry Stanwyck scattered just five hits over a solid seven innings Friday night, lifting visiting UC Davis to a 7-2 series-opening victory over Gonzaga at the Patterson Baseball Complex in Spokane, Wash.

In only the second-ever meeting between the two programs, the Aggies won for the third time in the last four contests, improving to 20-25 overall and surpassing the win total from all of 2013 in the process. Friday night marked only the third time in 10 weekend series that UC Davis has won the opener, joining wins over then-No. 18 Cal State Fullerton on April 4 and Long Beach State on April 11.

The Bulldogs, winners of eight of their last 10 heading into the weekend, fell to 20-26 overall with the loss.

Junior catcher Izaak Silva finished with four hits to help power a 15-hit Aggies attack in support of Stanwyck (3-6), who carried a no-hitter into the fourth and a shutout into the seventh while striking out five. Raul Jacobson allowed a run on a hit over the final two innings to close things out.

Brandon Bailey (5-6) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out three for Gonzaga.

After a scoreless first, UC Davis put up single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings, before breaking the game wide open with a three-run fifth en route to the win. Run-scoring singles by March, Kevin Barker, and Tino Lipson, respectively, got the Aggies on the board first before the big inning.

A single by Tanner Bily off reliever Will Abram started things off before Brian Ruhm was hit by a pitch. Following a sacrifice by Spencer Henderson, March drove home two more runs with a single back through the box while Evan Heptig brought him home two batters later for a 5-0 lead.

Stanwyck, who allowed just six baserunners through the first six innings, finally had his armor dented in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Cabe Reiten, while the Bulldogs added a second run on an RBI groundout by Jimmy Sinatro off Jacobson, but it wasn't enough.

UC Davis added a final run in the ninth as March drew a walk, moved all the way to third on a infield single by Silva, and scored when Silva got himself caught in a rundown, touching the plate before his teammate was tagged out to end the inning.

Every Aggies starter finished with at least one hit as UC Davis compiled double-digits in the category for the fourth time in their last five contests and the 20th time overall this season. With his single in the third, Barker extended his hitting streak to 13 games -- the longest since teammate Steven Patterson's 13-game streak from April 30-May 24 last season -- and reached base safely for the 23rd consecutive contest.

Silva became only the second Aggie to have at least four hits in a game this season, joining Barker, who has a four-hit game against San Jose State on March 11 and five hits at UC Riverside on April 17.

Six different Gonzaga hitters accounted for the team's six hits on the night.

Game two of the series is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday evening with junior right-hander Spencer Koopmans (4-1, 2.91 ERA) scheduled to take the mound for the Aggies against Bulldogs' right-hander Andrew Sopko (4-3, 3.42 ERA)
