DAVIS, Calif. - Join UC Davis student-athletes as they host the fifth annual Aggie Idol. This student-athlete run charity variety show raises money in support of Team Davis. Student-athletes will take the stage to sing, dance, or perform other talents. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 2 at Freeborn Hall. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will support Team Davis, a local nonprofit organization established to help enrich the lives of children and adults with developmental, cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Team Davis also serves as the local Special Olympics organization.
In last year's event, Aggie wide receiver Dwight Smith took top honors in the individual or duo category with his performance of the song "Hallelujah". Track and Field members Nolan Frazier, Igor Seriba, and Alex Wilright were voted the best group performance for an original hip hop and R&B composition entitled "It's So Hard".
Aggie Idol is organized and presented by the UC Davis Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The SAAC promotes student-athlete participation in community outreach activities.
