BERKELEY, Calif. - UC Davis opened its fall schedule Friday at the Cal Nike Invitational in Berkeley. Four Aggies were in action, including Megan Heneghan, Dahra Zamudio, Kelly Chui and Nicole Koehly.

Koehly had a pair of wins in singles competition and advanced to the semifinals in white singles while Zamudio and Koehly picked up a win in doubles play.

Koehly defeated Nevada's Faith Bassiouny, 6-3, 6-2, in the white singles round of 16 before taking another win in the quarterfinals over Cal's Catie Visico, 6-2, 6-1. Koehly also paired up with Zamudio to down the team of Sheehan-Dizon/Anderson of BYU, 8-4.

Heneghan and Zamudio each competed in gold singles and dropped matches in the opening round. Heneghan was defeated by Arizona State's Hannah James, 7-6 (5), 6-1, while Zamudio fell to Zsofie Susanyi of Cal, 6-1, 6-4. After receiving a bye in the first round of blue singles, Chui faced Santa Clara's Maggie McGeorge and came up short in a three-set match, 6-3, 1-6, 6-0.

Koehly will compete in the white singles semifinals tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. while doubles matches will start at 8 a.m.
