DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis men's basketball swingman Josh Ritchart has been selected to the CollegeInsider.com 2011 Freshman Mid-Major All-America Team, it was announced by the website recently.
This is the second year-end honor for the Auburn, Calif. native. Ritchart was also named the Big West Conference Co-Freshman of the Year.
Ritchart ranked fifth on the squad in scoring with 7.9 points per game and knocked down a team second-best 47 three-pointers. The guard/forward also ranked fourth in the Big West in three-point field goal percentage (.409). Ritchart canned five threes and erupted for a career-high 23 points at UCLA on Dec. 13, 2010 and scored in double figures six times in the final nine games.
Rather selecting a first, second, third team and honorable mentions; the Mid-Major Freshmen All-America squad is just one team.
