Final Stats
DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis women's tennis team stayed perfect at home while improving its win streak to eight matches with a 7-0 nonconference win over Montana State on Friday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.
The Aggies (9-2) played singles competition first due to the threat of weather before sweeping the doubles matches. UC Davis did not lose a set in singles agianst the Bobcats (3-4) en route to the sweep. The Aggies have swept three of their last five matches.
Ellie Edles took the first singles match of the day at the No. 3 position with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Paulina Lopez Trevino. Nicole Koehly won at No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of Andrea De La Torre before Dahra Zamudio had a 6-1, 6-1 win against Wena Tsan.
Megan Heneghan defeated Charlotta Hjalmarsson 6-4, 6-2 for the clinching win, improving to 6-0 on the season since entering into the No. 1 singles position. Lauren Curry and Kelly Chui also picked up wins in singles, with 6-2, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-3 wins, respectively.
UC Davis was originally scheduled to play Nevada on Saturday, Feb. 26 but the match has been rescheduled due to the threat of weather for Tuesday, March 29th at 2 p.m. The Aggies will be back in action on Friday, Mar. 4, playing Pacific in their first home conference match of the season at 1:30 p.m.
