Tournament Scoring
STANFORD, Calif. - UC Davis freshman Jessica Chulya was just 1 over and tied for third after 10 holes of the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford which was suspended by rain midway through the first round on Saturday with the Aggie women's golf team tied for third.
Chulya and teammate Alice Kim each completed 10 holes of the 36-hole tournament's first round while Amy Simanton and Chelsea Stelzmiller each finished nine, and Demi Runas completed eight.
The 10 teams will complete the first round on Sunday morning before playing the final round immediately after.
Cal, ranked ninth by Golfstat, is unofficially 2 over par during the first round and has a nine-shot lead over Washington State. UC Davis, ranked 25th, is in a four-way logjam for third with No. 21 Colorado, No. 27 Stanford and Santa Clara, just one shot behind the Cougars.
Unofficially, Chulya is tied for third at 1 over, Kim and Runas are tied for 18th at 3 over, Simanton is 5 over and tied for 43rd and Stelzmiller is 6 over and tied for 51st.
Daniela Holmquist and Emily Childs are currently tied for first, unofficially at 2 under.
Play will resume at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
