Final Stats

DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis women's tennis team pushed its win streak to four straight matches after cruising to a 7-0 win over Sonoma State at the Marya Welch Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

UC Davis (5-2) swept the double matches and did not lose a set in singles competition. Sonoma State fell to 1-2 on the young season with the loss.

The team of Kelly Chui and Megan Heneghan set the tone early by defeating Dana Carollo and Haley Hickock, 8-3, giving the Aggies the doubles point. Pairings of Ellie Edles/Lauren Curry and Noelle Eades/Melissa Kobayakawa also finished with 8-5 and 8-4 wins, respectively. The order of finish in doubles was 3, 1, 2.

Heneghan blanked her opponent in No. 1 singles, defeating Carollo 6-0, 6-0. Chui also did not surrender a game, taking a 6-0, 6-0 win over Brook McBride. Edles had the clinching win of the match, defeating Hickock, 6-1, 6-1. The order of finish in singles was 4, 5, 3, 1, 2, 6.

UC Davis will be back in action next weekend at Cal State Fullerton, with the Aggies playing their first conference match of the season on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12 p.m.
