BERKELEY, Calif. - Three UC Davis women's tennis players were in action on the final day at the Cal Nike Invitational Sunday, at the Hellman Tennis Complex. Nicole Koehly claimed the white singles title while Dahra Zamudio picked up a singles win.
Following a semifinal win in the white singles draw on Saturday, Koehly was declared the winner of her flight after BYU's Aubrey Paul was unable to compete due to BYU's policy of not playing on Sunday.
Zamudio posted an impressive singles win in round robin play, defeating Tanya Murtagh of Fresno State, 6-2, 6-1.
Kelly Chui advanced to the finals of the blue singles consolation flight after a Saturday semifinal win but came up short in a two-set match against Cal's Alice Duranteau, 6-4, 6-3.
UC Davis will be back in action in two weeks at the St. Mary's Invitational, playing on Oct. 14-16 in Moraga, Calif.
