BERKELEY, Calif. - UC Davis sophomore Nicole Koehly picked up a victory in the quarterfinals of the white singles draw on Saturday at the Cal Nike Invitational. Kelly Chui and Dahra Zamudio also had singles wins, while Chui teamed up with Megan Heneghan for a doubles victory.
Koehly's semifinal win came against Fresno State's Anne Susdorf in a three-set match, 7-5, 3-6, 6-1. Chui advanced in the blue singles consolation quarterfinal round by defeating Megan Sheehan of BYU, 6-0, 6-2. Zamudio started the opening round of round robin play with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sacramento State's Maria Meliuk.
Chui and Heneghan also cruised to an 8-2 win over Saint Mary's Ana Chkhkivishvili and Liz Searl in the gold doubles consolation quarterfinal round.
The Cal Nike Invitational will wrap up tomorrow, with Koehly competing in the white singles finals at 11:45 a.m.
