The three-day, 54-hole event - peppered with 16 teams ranked in Golfstat's top 50 - is being played at the 6,255-yard University of Texas Golf Club. The Aggies shot a 23-over 311 team score, also receiving rounds of 78 from Chelsea Stelzmiller and 79 from both Demi Runas and Lauren Dobashi.
Simanton and Kim are each tied for 41st, Stelzmiller is tied for 52nd and Runas and Dobashi are both tied for 63rd.
Top-ranked UCLA opened the tournament with a 7-over 295 and holds a one-shot advantage over No. 35 Texas and a three-shot lead over No. 22 TCU. Oregon, ranked 30th, and No. 25 Texas A&M are tied for fourth at 11-over.
Kim birdied the third hole to get below par early in her round and added another on the par-4 10th to help her get back to a shot over par. She parred the last three holes to stay at 5-over. Simanton, who like Kim birdied the par-4 third, birdied the par-4 18th to help her also come in with a 77.
Stelzmiller played the back nine just two over, Dobashi had two birdies in her round and Runas played her last nine holes just three over, helping highlight their rounds on Friday.
Shannon Fish, playing for Texas' B team, shot a 2-under 70 and is tied for first with Sarah Zwartynski of Texas A&M. They lead two others by a thot.
