DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's basketball team will play Boise State in this year's BracketBusters event. The Aggies will play the Broncos on Feb. 20 at Taco Bell Arena in Boise. A tip-time has not been announced. The Aggies will be playing in one of 49 games across the nation during the two-day event. Boise State, a member of the Western Athletic Conference, is currently 11-11 overall and 2-7 in the WAC.
This will be the third year UC Davis has taken part in BracketBusters and the second time it has played on the road. The Aggies' previous BacketBusters games were in 2008 (at Loyola College) and 2009 (Fresno State). All nine Big West Conference schools are participating, and UC Davis is one of four conference teams playing on the road.
The BracketBusters event features games on both Feb. 19 and Feb. 20. Eleven of the 49 games will be nationally televised. Pacific is the only Big West team to receive a television appearance in the package.
Entering this week, UC Davis (8-12, 4-4) is in a three-way tie for third-place in the Big West. The Aggies begin a three-game homestand Thursday against Cal Poly.
The UC Davis-Boise State game will be the first meeting between the two schools in men's basketball.
