IRVINE, Calif. - Vicky Deely, who scored a career-high 21 points on Sunday against No. 15 UCLA, was named the Big West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after helping UC Davis a split of its games in Southern California, it was announced by the league on Monday.
Deely, a sophomore wing from Sonoma, hit a career-best five three-pointers against the Bruins, including three in the first half when she scored 11 points. She added six rebounds and two steals in the 65-49 loss.
During the Aggies' 70-62 win at Pepperdine on Friday, Deely came off the bench to score 12 points and grab eight rebounds in 21 minutes of action. For the week, Deely shot 57.1% from the floor and averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds. She's led the Aggies in rebounding each of their first four games.
Deely is the first UC Davis player to win the award this season. The Aggies return to action on Friday when they host Yale at 5 p.m. at The Pavilion. They'll host South Carolina on Sunday.
