Day Two Results
STANFORD, Calif. - The UC Davis women's tennis team continued play in day two at the ITA Northwest Regional in Stanford, Calif. The Aggies took multiple wins in the doubles draw, advancing three teams into the round of 16.
In the singles draw, five UC Davis players had bids to advance to the round of 32, but each one came up short. Megan Heneghan and Dahra Zamudio each dropped three-set matches, before being eliminated in the round of 64. Heneghan fell to California's Tayler S. Davis 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 and Zamudio was defeated by Catherine R. Isip of Saint Mary's, 2-6, 6-1, 6-3
In the doubles draw, three separate Aggie pairings took wins in the round of 32. Koehly/Zamudio defeated San Jose State's team of Marshall/Prescott, 8-2, while the Curry/Edles duo got past McDevitt/Metzger of Oregon, 8-5. The Chui/Heneghan team rounded out the cast of Aggies that moved on to the round of 16, after defeating Cal Poly's McPike/Webb, 8-3.
Sunday will feature continued action in the doubles draw for UC Davis, while all Aggies have been eliminated from singles competition.
