Aggies Begin Play at ITA Northwest Regional

STANFORD, Calif. - The UC Davis women's tennis team had a strong showing in day one at the ITA Northwest Regional on Friday, in Stanford, Calif. The Aggies had all 10 players in action, earning five wins in the first round singles draw and three wins in the first round doubles draw.

In the singles draw, Megan Heneghan and Ellie Edles each took wins in the round of 128. Kelly Chui, Nicole Koehly and Dahra Zamudio also advanced to the round of 64, after wins in their respective draws.

In double competition, pairings of Koehly/Zamudio, Curry/Edles and Chui/Heneghan all took wins in the opening round of 64.

Due to rain early in the day, competition did not advance past the first round in either draw. Despite the threat of rain in the remainder of the weekend, second round action is set to resume Saturday morning.
