IRVINE, Calif. - As least two, and possibly three, UC Davis men's basketball regular season games will be nationally televised this season as the Big West Conference announced its 2009-10 television schedule on Thursday. The Aggies are already slated to play twice on ESPNU and could have a third game aired on ESPN2.
The first televised game is Jan. 7 when UC Davis plays at UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The same network will air the Aggies' game at Pacific on Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. One week later, on Jan 30, one of the four Big West games that day will air on ESPN2. One possible choice is the UC Davis at Long Beach State game.
The total Big West television schedule includes 21 games. Some of the games, conference-wide, are also scheduled to air on various regional networks. The two Aggie games on ESPNU are among just five regular season conference games on national television. The Big West is entering the second year of a five-year agreement with ESPN.
At the Big West Tournament, both semifinal games will air on ESPNU with the championship game on ESPN2.
UC Davis opens its season Nov. 13 when it takes part in the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off in Eugene, Ore. The Aggies' home opener is Nov. 18 against UC Santa Cruz.
