2009-10 UC Davis Men's Basketball Schedule

DAVIS, Calif. - The 2009-10 UC Davis men's basketball schedule features 30 games, including an early-season tournament at Oregon, trips to Ball State, Stanford, Fresno State and Air Force, the annual ESPNU BracketBusters game as well as the traditional 16 games against Big West Conference foes.

"Once again, the schedule will provide excellent competition," said head coach Gary Stewart. "We will face a diverse and challenging slate of teams. It is imperative we use the non-conference portion of the schedule to improve. We must utilize every opportunity to prepare for what undoubtedly will be a very difficult Big West Conference."

The non-conference schedule features games against two Pac-10 schools as well as two from the Mountain West. The season begins Nov. 13 when the Aggies face Colorado State in the first round of the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Oregon. Over the following two days, UC Davis will take on Oregon and Winston-Salem State before returning home for its home opener on Nov. 18 against UC Santa Cruz.

The two-game homestand concludes six nights later as the Aggies take on North Dakota State. NDSU won the Summit League's regular and post-season championships a year ago behind a 26-7 record.

After a single game at Ball State on Nov. 28, UC Davis returns home to face Sacramento State and Seattle to start December. Three straight road games follow against Stanford, Fresno State and Air Force, respectively, before the Aggies close out December at home against Whittier on Dec. 30.

"I am excited we were able to balance the non-conference schedule in November and December to make it student-athlete friendly," added Stewart. "It will keep our players from missing extended class time."

The Big West schedule begins Jan. 2 when the Aggies host the past two Big West champions in the form of Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge. The only two non-conference games after the first of the year fall back-to-back in mid-February when the team plays at Seattle before taking on another road team as part of the ESPNU BracketBusters event. That opponent will be announced later in the season. The Big West Tournament is scheduled for March 10-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Ticket information will be available soon.
