EL MACERO, Calif. - Danielle Cvitanov shot a 1-under 71 and Diana Hong fired an even-par 72 to help lead the No. 25 San Francisco women's golf team to a 295-301 dual win over No. 61 UC Davis on Thursday afternoon at El Macero Country Club.
The match was a late addition to the teams' schedules in an effort to help them make up competition lost earlier this season to inclement weather. Alice Kim and Brittany Smith each had 74's for the Aggies who played the first dual in the program's brief nearly four-year history.
Cold and rainy conditions provided the backdrop to the dual at the par-72, 6,032-yard El Macero course. Cvitanov and Hong led the Dons who also received a 75 from Natasha Podmore and a 77 from Tinna Johannsdottir to round out its scoring. Christina Stockton added a 78.
For UC Davis, Kim and Stelzmiller's matching scores of 2-over were complemented by a 76 from Chelsea Stelzmiller - the Big West Conference Golfer of the Month for March - and a 77 from senior Jessica Yam. Junior Lauren Dobashi fired a 78. Senior Bryana Gregory and sophomore Katie Sisler - each playing as individuals - carded 75 and 78, respectively.
