DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's basketball team will head back on the road for one game this weekend when it takes on Ball State Saturday in Muncie, Ind. The Aggies enter the game with a 2-3 record while the Cardinals are 1-2. The contest tips at 10 a.m. Pacific time and can be heard on KFSG 1690-AM as well as www.ucdavisaggies.com.
In its last game, UC Davis nearly overcame an eight-point deficit with three minutes to go before North Dakota State held on for a 63-62 victory at The Pavilion. Dominic Calegari led all scorers with a season-high 23 points while Mark Payne added 15. UC Davis trailed 63-55 before going on a 7-0 run to close the game.
Ball State is coming off a 66-46 loss at Temple on Tuesday night. Previous victories came at home against Valparaiso and SIU Edwardsville. Jarrod Jones leads the team with 15.0 points per game, and Jauwan Scaife is averaging 12.0.
This is the first meeting between the two teams. Following the game, UC Davis returns home to prepare for a two-game homestand beginning Wednesday against Sacramento State.
