SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The UC Davis men's and women's basketball teams took part in the first annual NorCal Basketball Media Day Monday afternoon in Sacramento. The teams were joined by their counterparts at Pacific and Sacramento State at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Aggie men's head coach Gary Stewart, women's head coach Sandy Simpson and select players were in attendance.

Stewart was joined by senior Dominic Calegari as well as juniors Joe Harden and Mark Payne. Simpson along with seniors Ashley Curry and Haylee Donaghe represented the women's team. The format included each team's head coach addressing the media followed by a question-and-answer session with the media. At the conclusion of the media day, players and coaches took part in various one-on-one interviews.

Both UC Davis squads begin their official practice at the end of the week. The Aggie women begin their regular season Nov. 13 at Seattle while the men will be at the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off in Eugene, Ore., taking on Colorado State.
