Aggies Continue Busy Week With Two Home Games

DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's basketball team continues a busy week when it returns to the floor to host UC Riverside on Thursday and Long Beach State on Saturday. Both game tip at 7 p.m. at The Pavilion and can be heard on KFSG 1690-AM as well as www.ucdavisaggies.com. Saturday's game against Long Beach State will also be televised on Comcast SportsNet California.

UC Davis (5-9, 0-1 Big West) is in the middle of a stretch of three games in six days. The Aggies were last in action Monday on the road when they were edged by Cal State Northridge, 84-81, The game, which was the Big West opener for the Aggies, featured a career-high 19 points by Ryan Silva. Vince Oliver also scored 19 while Joe Harden scored 17.

UC Riverside enters Thursday's action tied atop the Big West Conference with a 2-0 record and sports a 9-4 overall mark. The Highlanders have already matched their win total from a year ago and need just three more to set the school record for wins at the Division I level. Junior Kyle Austin leads UCR with 17.8 points per game in six games of action. Junior Javon Borum is averaging 10.6 ppg. UCR leads the Big West with just 55.3 points allowed but is last with 59.2 points scored per game.

UC Riverside leads the all-time series, 25-22. The teams split their two games last season with the home team winning each time. Overall, the Highlanders have won four of the past five meetings.
